Course Description: This comprehensive course is specifically designed for students who are actively participating in scholastic chess tournaments, as well as for those who are enthusiastic about entering chess competitions in the near future. 

 

Through a structured and focused curriculum, students will engage in a series of carefully developed lessons that will allow them to master essential chess tactics. They will learn to understand and utilize sound opening principles, enabling them to start each game with a strategic advantage. The course will also cover common middlegame strategies, helping students to navigate the complexities of the game effectively. Finally, practical endgame skills will be developed, equipping students with the tools they need to close out matches successfully.

 

We take pride in the extraordinary success of the VC Chess Kids Tournament Preparation program, which has consistently produced numerous state, national, and international champions. Several of our exceptional students have had the honor of representing TEAM USA in various prestigious international competitions. Notably, one of our students achieved the remarkable distinction of being named World Number 1 in the Under 8 Age Category, setting a high standard for excellence in our program.
